Start with a magic circle and ch 3 (counts as first dc). Work 11 dc into the magic circle. Pull tight to close and join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3.

Round 2:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Work 2 dc into same st. Work 2 dc into each st around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (24 dc)

Round 3:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). *Work 1 dc into next st. Work 2 dc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (36 dc)

Round 4:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). *Work 1 dc into next 2 sts. Work 2 dc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (48 dc)

Round 5:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). *Work 1 dc into next 3 sts. Work 2 dc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (60 dc)

Round 6:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). *Work 1 dc into next 4 sts. Work 2 dc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (72 dc)

Round 7:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). *Work 1 dc into next 5 sts. Work 2 dc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (84 dc)

Round 8-12:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Work 1 dc into each st around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3. (84 dc)

Round 13:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). Work 1 sc into each dc around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 14:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). Work 1 sc into each sc around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 15-17:

Repeat round 14.

Round 18:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). *Work 1 sc into next 2 sts. Work 2 sc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 19-20:

Repeat round 14.

Round 21:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). *Work 1 sc into next 3 sts. Work 2 sc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 22-23:

Repeat round 14.

Round 24:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). *Work 1 sc into next 4 sts. Work 2 sc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 25-26:

Repeat round 14.

Round 27:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). *Work 1 sc into next 5 sts. Work 2 sc into next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 28-29:

Repeat round 14.

Round 30:

Ch 1 (does not count as a st). Work 1 sc into each st around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Finishing:

Once you have completed the main part of the hat, you can optionally add a brim by working single crochet stitches around the bottom edge. You can also experiment with adding a contrast color for the brim.

Optional Modifications:

You can adjust the size of the hat by adding or reducing the number of increases in each round. Additionally, you can modify the pattern by adding stripes, colorwork, or other decorative elements.
