Materials

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK: Aran) in 100% wool, 500g (Imperial size: 17.6oz, Metric size: 885m)

Gauge

18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on US 8 needles

Pattern

Back Panel

Cast on 80 stitches on US 8 needles. Work in stockinette stitch for 10 inches.

Cable Pattern

Row 1 (RS): K6, P2, *K12, P2; repeat from * to last 6 stitches, K6.

Row 2 (WS): P6, K2, *P12, K2; repeat from * to last 6 stitches, P6.

Repeat these 2 rows for cable pattern until work measures 16 inches from cast on edge.

Front Panel

Work same as back panel until work measures 8 inches from cast on edge.

Shape Neck: Row 1 (RS): K20, join 2nd ball of yarn, bind off center 40 stitches, K20.

Work each side separately, decreasing 1 stitch at neck edge every other row until 17 stitches remain. Work even until front panel matches back panel.

Sleeves (Make 2)

Cast on 40 stitches on US 8 needles. Work in stockinette stitch for 6 inches.

Shape Sleeve: Increase 1 stitch at each end every 4th row 5 times, then every 6th row 4 times (54 stitches). Work even until sleeve measures 18 inches.

Finishing
