Materials

- Dk weight yarn (3.5-4 oz./ 100-113g, 250 yards/ 229m)
- US Size 6 (4 mm), UK Old Size 8 knitting needles
- US Size 8 (5 mm), UK Old Size 6 knitting needles
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
Instructions
For a successful knitting project, follow these steps:
- Cast on 88 stitches with smaller needles.
- Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2", increasing to larger needles in the last row of ribbing.
- Switch to *k6, p2* pattern (repeat between *) for 1 row.
- Knit next row.
- Continuing with *k6, p2* pattern for about 5.5".
- Start decreasing as follows: *K2 together, P2*, repeat until end of row. The stitches number should now reduce to 66.
- Next row knit all stitches.
- Decrease row: *K2 together, P1*, repeat until end of row. The stitches number should now reduce to 44.
- Knit all stitches for the next row.
- Cut the yarn leaving about 8". Thread it on yarn needle and go through all stitches left on the knitting needle. Draw tight and fasten off.
- Seam the edge together forming your beanie!
