Oversized Chunky Knit Striped Sweater Pattern

This cozy oversized chunky knit sweater with long sleeves is perfect for chilly days. The striped design adds a touch of style to this classic piece.

Chunky weight yarn in two contrasting colors:
- Color A: 5 skeins (approximately 500g)
- Color B: 3 skeins (approximately 300g)
US Size 10/UK Size 4/Metric Size 6 mm circular knitting needles, 32"

12 stitches x 18 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Using Color A, cast on 80 stitches.
Join in the round, being careful not to twist, and place a marker at the beginning of the round.
Knit in 2x2 rib (K2, P2) for 6 inches.
Switch to stockinette stitch (knit all rounds) and continue until the piece measures 10 inches from the cast-on edge.
Change to Color B and knit 2 rounds.
Switch back to Color A and knit 4 rounds.
Continue alternating colors every 2 rounds until the sweater measures 20 inches from the cast-on edge, ending with Color A.
Shape neck: Knit 40 stitches, slip the next 26 stitches onto a holder, cast on 8 stitches, knit to the end of the round.
Knit in stockinette stitch for 12 inches from the underarm.
Shape sleeve: Bind off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Decrease 1 stitch at each end of the next and every following 6th row until 60 stitches remain.
Knit in stockinette stitch until the sleeve measures 18 inches from the underarm.
Bind off all stitches.
Repeat for the second sleeve.
Join Color A and knit across the held stitches, pick up and knit 8 stitches along the cast-on edge, knit across the front, pick up and knit 8 stitches along the other cast-on edge.
Knit in stockinette stitch for 6 inches.
Switch to 2x2 rib and knit for 6 inches.
Bind off in pattern.
Weave in all ends and block the sweater to measurements.
