Circle Skirt in the Round Knitting Pattern

This pattern will guide you through knitting a beautiful circle skirt in the round. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced knitter, this pattern is suitable for all skill levels.

Materials Needed

Gauge

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch using US size 8 (5 mm) needles.

Size

This pattern is designed to fit sizes XS (S, M, L, XL). The finished waist circumference is approximately 24 (28, 32, 36, 40) inches or 61 (71, 81, 91, 102) cm.

Instructions

Waistband:

Using US size 6 (4 mm) circular needles, cast on 120 (140, 160, 180, 200) stitches.

Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round.

Work in a K2, P2 ribbing pattern for 1 inch (2.5 cm).

Switch to US size 8 (5 mm) circular needles.

Continue working in stockinette stitch until the waistband measures approximately 2 inches (5 cm) from the cast-on edge.

Skirt Body:

On the next round, increase evenly across the round to a total of 200 (240, 280, 320, 360) stitches.

Continue working in stockinette stitch for the length desired. You can try it on as you go to determine the desired length.

Finishing:

Bind off all stitches. Weave in any loose ends using a tapestry needle.
