Stay stylish and warm with this color block knit vest. This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters who are comfortable with color changes and basic shaping techniques.
24 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
This pattern is written for a size medium. Adjustments for other sizes can be made by changing the number of stitches cast on and/or the length of the vest.
Using Color A, cast on 100 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 15 inches from cast on edge.
Using Color B, cast on 50 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 7 inches from cast on edge. At the beginning of the next row, knit 2 together, then knit to end. Repeat this decrease row every 4th row 5 more times until you have 45 stitches on the needle. Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 15 inches from cast on edge.
Repeat instructions for Left Front Panel, reversing shaping.
Sew shoulder seams. With Color C, pick up stitches around the armholes and work in 1x1 rib for 2 inches. Bind off in pattern.
Weave in all ends and block the vest to finished measurements.
