18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

One size fits most adults

K: Knit
P: Purl
C6F: Slip 3 stitches onto cable needle, hold in front, knit next 3 stitches, then knit 3 stitches from cable needle
C6B: Slip 3 stitches onto cable needle, hold in back, knit next 3 stitches, then knit 3 stitches from cable needle
rep: Repeat

Cast on 20 stitches.

Row 1 (Right Side): K1, P6, K6, P6, K1.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): P1, K6, P6, K6, P1.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures 2 inches from the cast on edge, ending with a Wrong Side row.

Work Cable Pattern:

Row 1 (Right Side): K1, P6, C6F, P6, K1.

Row 2: P1, K6, P6, K6, P1.

Row 3: K1, P6, K6, P6, K1.

Row 4: P1, K6, P6, K6, P1.
