Crochet Cotton Care Bear Pattern

Materials:

• Crochet hook: US G/6 (4mm)
• Cotton yarn: Sport weight (UK 8 ply) in desired colors
• Stuffing material
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease

Instructions:

Body:

1. Round 1: Start with a magic circle, ch 1, make 6 sc into the circle. (6 stitches)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
3. Round 3: *Sc in the next stitch, inc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around. (18 stitches)
4. Round 4: *Sc in the next 2 stitches, inc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around. (24 stitches)
5. Continue working in rounds, without increasing, until the body is the desired size. This will be the height of your Care Bear.
6. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Head:

1. Round 1: Start with a magic circle, ch 1, make 6 sc into the circle. (6 stitches)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
3. Round 3: *Sc in the next stitch, inc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around. (18 stitches)
4. Round 4: *Sc in the next 2 stitches, inc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around. (24 stitches)
5. Continue working in rounds, without increasing, until the head is the desired size.
6. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ears (make 2):

1. Round 1: Start with a magic circle, ch 1, make 6 sc into the circle. (6 stitches)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
3. Round 3: *Sc in the next stitch, inc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around. (18 stitches)
4. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:
