Crochet Square Edge Shawl Pattern
This pattern will guide you through creating a beautiful crochet shawl with square motifs on the edge. Get your favorite yarn and crochet hook ready!
Materials

Instructions
Square Motif (Make 15)
Each square motif measures approximately 4 inches.
- Round 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), make 11 dc into the ring, sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3 to join (12 dc).
- Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in the same st, *2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st* - repeat from * to * around, sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3 to join (24 dc).
- Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in the next 2 sts, *(2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in the next st, sc in the next 3 sts* - repeat from * to * three more times, (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in the next st, sl st to the first sc to join. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Shawl
- Row 1: With your main yarn color, ch 6, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across (5 sc).
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
- Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in the first 2 sts, ch 3, skip the next st, sc in the next 2 sts.
- Row 4 and onwards: Repeat Row 3 until you reach the desired length of your shawl, ending with Row 2.
Finishing
Join the square motifs by sewing or slip stitching along one side. Attach them evenly along the edge of your shawl. Weave in any remaining ends and block your shawl for a neat finish.
