Celebrate Father's Day with these classic, cozy socks. They're easy to knit, and warm and comfortable to wear. This Father's Day Socks Knitting Pattern is perfect for all levels of knitters, from beginners up to more advanced folks.
You will be using a combination of knit stitches, purl stitches, and ribbing technique for the cuffs. These socks are knitted from the top down in one piece.
Cuffs: Cast on 40 stitches. Divide evenly on four needles. Join, being careful not to twist. Work 2x2 rib (K2, P2) for 15 rounds.
Leg: Continue working in stockinette stitch (knit every round) for 26 rounds.
Heel: To make the heel, slip the first 10 stitches from needle 1 onto needle 4. Work these 20 stitches back and forth for 15 rows. Turn heel and create gusset as per heel flap method.
Foot: Resume working in round until foot of sock measures 9 inches from back of heel. Then start toe shaping.
Finishing: Cut the yarn, leaving about a 5-inch tail. Thread this through a darning needle and draw it through the remaining stitches. Draw up tightly and fasten off. Weave in the ends.
Repeat for the second sock.
