Ferret Pattern Running Socks
Stay stylish and comfortable on your runs with these knit toe up running socks featuring a reinforced heel and toe, arch support, and a cute ferret pattern just below the cuff. Knit two at a time to ensure both socks match perfectly!
Materials
- Yarn: Sport weight yarn (US), 5 ply (UK), 12 wpi (Metric)
- Needles: Size 2 (US), 14 (UK Old), 2.75 mm (Metric) circular needles for magic loop method
- Cable needle, stitch markers, tapestry needle
Gauge
32 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions
- Cuff: Cast on 64 stitches, join for working in the round, and place marker for beginning of round. Work in k2, p2 rib for 1 inch.
- Leg: Knit the ferret pattern around the leg of the sock, repeating the pattern as desired.
- Heel: Divide your stitches in half, placing half on each needle. Work a toe up heel flap and turn for each sock separately.
- Foot: Continue knitting in the round, working the arch support as follows: Knit 32 stitches, work arch support pattern over next 12 stitches, knit remaining 20 stitches.
- Toe: Decrease for toe shaping until 16 stitches remain on each needle. Graft the toes together using Kitchener stitch.
- Weave in ends and block to shape.
