Fingerless Gloves Knitting Pattern

Materials:

Yarn: Medium weight yarn (UK: Aran, US: Worsted), 100g (200 meters)
Needles: US 6 (4mm) double-pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge:

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch

Pattern:

Cuff: Cast on 36 stitches. Divide evenly on double-pointed needles and join in the round being careful not to twist.
Work in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 2 inches (5 cm).
Main Body: Continue in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 6 inches (15 cm) from the cast-on edge.
Thumb Gusset:
1. Next round: K18, place marker, M1L, knit to end of round.
2. Next round: Knit.
3. Repeat these two rounds 5 more times (12 gusset stitches between markers).
4. Knit one round, slipping the gusset stitches onto scrap yarn.
5. Cast on 2 stitches over the gap left by the gusset stitches.
Top Ribbing: Work in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 1 inch (2.5 cm).
Bind off: Bind off in pattern. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Thumb: Pick up the 12 thumb stitches from the scrap yarn. Divide evenly on double-pointed needles. Join yarn and knit in the round until thumb measures 2 inches (5 cm). Work 2 rounds in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing. Bind off in pattern.

Finishing:

Weave in all ends. Repeat for the second glove.
