Cuff: Cast on 36 stitches. Divide evenly on double-pointed needles and join in the round being careful not to twist.
Work in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 2 inches (5 cm).
Main Body: Continue in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 6 inches (15 cm) from the cast-on edge.
Thumb Gusset:
Top Ribbing: Work in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 1 inch (2.5 cm).
Bind off: Bind off in pattern. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
