Flat Cat Skull Knitting Pattern

This pattern is for advanced knitters who are familiar with stranded colorwork and shaping techniques.

Materials

• Yarn: Sport weight yarn in white and black (Imperial Needle Size: US 3, UK 11, Metric Needle Size: 3.25 mm)
• Pair of US 3 (3.25 mm) knitting needles
• Tapestry needle
• Stuffing

Gauge

24 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions

Front (White):

Using white yarn, cast on 40 stitches.

Row 1: Knit all stitches.

Row 2: Purl all stitches.

Continue in stockinette stitch for 10 rows.

Begin colorwork chart for the cat skull design.

Back (Black):

Work the same as the front piece but in black yarn.

Once both pieces are complete, sew them together leaving an opening for stuffing. Stuff the skull and sew the opening closed. Weave in any remaining ends.

Finishing

Block the skull to shape, using pins to ensure the edges are straight. Your flat cat skull is now complete!
