Heart-Shaped Jumper Knitting Pattern

18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions:
Back Panel:
- Cast on 60 (70, 80, 90) stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 16 (17, 18, 19) inches from the cast-on edge.
- Shape armholes: Bind off 4 (5, 6, 7) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
- Continue working in stockinette stitch until the armhole measures 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5) inches.
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 10 (12, 14, 16) stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows.
- Remaining stitches form the neckline.
Front Panel (with heart detail):
- Follow the instructions for the Back Panel until the piece measures 12 (13, 14, 15) inches from the cast-on edge.
- Knit 15 (17, 19, 21) stitches, place marker, knit 30 (36, 42, 48) stitches for heart motif, place marker, knit to end.
- Work heart motif as follows: (Row 1) Knit. (Row 2) Purl. (Row 3) K3, M1, k to last 3 stitches, M1, k3. (Row 4) Purl.
- Repeat Rows 3-4 three more times.
- Continue in stockinette stitch until the piece measures the same as the Back Panel.
- Shape armholes and shoulders as per Back Panel.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams. Pick up stitches around the neckline and knit ribbing for the collar. Sew side and arm seams. Weave in all ends.
