Cowl Body


  1. Cast on 150 stitches using the long-tail cast-on method.
  2. Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round.
  3. Join the round in a circle, being careful not to twist the stitches.
  4. Round 1: *(K2, P2) repeat from * to end of round.
  5. Rounds 2-5: Repeat Round 1.
  6. Round 6: *(K2, YO, K2tog, P2) repeat from * to end of round.
  7. Rounds 7-10: Repeat Round 6.
  8. Repeat Rounds 1-10 three more times, or until the cowl reaches your desired length.
  9. After completing the last round of the pattern, knit 5 rounds in (K2, P2) ribbing.
  10. Bind off all stitches in pattern.
  11. Weave in any loose ends using a tapestry needle.

Jellyfish Edge


  1. At the bind-off edge, pick up and knit 10 stitches evenly spaced around the cowl using the circular needles.
  2. Row 1: Purl.
  3. Row 2: *(K1, K2tog) repeat from * to end of row.
  4. Row 3: Purl.
  5. Row 4: *(K1, K2tog) repeat from * to end of row.
  6. Row 5: Purl.
