Kitty Cat Sweater Knitting Pattern
Get cozy with this adorable kitty cat sweater! This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters and includes a chart for the cat design.
Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK Aran, Metric 10 ply)
- Needles: US 8 (UK 6, Metric 5mm) circular needles and DPNs
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- Scissors
Gauge:
18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions:
- Back: Cast on 60 stitches and work in stockinette stitch for 12 inches
- Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows
- Front: Work the same as the back until armholes measure 7 inches
- Shape Neck: Place center 12 stitches on holder and work each side separately
- Decrease 1 stitch at neck edge every other row
- Shape Shoulders: When front measures the same as back, bind off the shoulder stitches
- Sleeves: Pick up stitches around the armhole and knit in the round for 8 inches
- Decrease 1 stitch at each end every 4th row
- Finishing: Sew the shoulder seams and sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
- Embroider the cat design on the front using duplicate stitch
