Kitty Cat Sweater Knitting Pattern

Get cozy with this adorable kitty cat sweater! This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters and includes a chart for the cat design.

Materials:

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK Aran, Metric 10 ply)
• Needles: US 8 (UK 6, Metric 5mm) circular needles and DPNs
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers
• Scissors

Gauge:

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions:

1. Back: Cast on 60 stitches and work in stockinette stitch for 12 inches
2. Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows
3. Front: Work the same as the back until armholes measure 7 inches
4. Shape Neck: Place center 12 stitches on holder and work each side separately
5. Decrease 1 stitch at neck edge every other row
6. Shape Shoulders: When front measures the same as back, bind off the shoulder stitches
7. Sleeves: Pick up stitches around the armhole and knit in the round for 8 inches
8. Decrease 1 stitch at each end every 4th row
9. Finishing: Sew the shoulder seams and sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
10. Embroider the cat design on the front using duplicate stitch
