Knit Chain Link Sweatsuit Pattern

Description:

Create a stylish and cozy chain link sweatsuit with a split color design down the middle. This pattern includes instructions for both the top and bottom pieces.

Gauge:

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions:

Sweater Top:

With Color A and larger needles, cast on 80 (88, 96, 104) stitches.
Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 5 inches from cast-on edge.
Switch to Color B and work in stockinette stitch for 17 (18, 19, 20) rows.
Join Color A and work in stockinette stitch until the entire piece measures approximately 18 (19, 20, 21) inches from cast-on edge.
Shape neckline by binding off center 24 (28, 32, 36) stitches and working each side separately.
Continue working each side, decreasing 1 stitch at neckline edge every other row 3 times.
Work even until armhole measures approximately 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5) inches.
Bind off all stitches.

Sweatpants Bottom:

With Color A and larger needles, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130) stitches.
Work in stockinette stitch for 4 inches.
Switch to Color B and work in stockinette stitch for 16 (17, 18, 19) rows.
Join Color A and work in stockinette stitch until the entire piece measures approximately 36 (38, 40, 42) inches from cast-on edge.
Divide for crotch by binding off center 20 (22, 24, 26) stitches and working each side separately.
Work even on each side until the crotch measures approximately 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5) inches.
Join front and back at inseam, leaving an opening for the waistband.
With smaller needles, pick up stitches around waist and work in 1x1 rib for 2 inches.
Bind off loosely.
