Knit Starfish Baby Blanket Pattern
Overview
Under the starry sky, under the ocean, knit your own cuddly starfish baby blanket! A perfect project for experienced knitters, this blanket design takes us underwater to a playful tropical seabed. With circular knitting technique, bring the starfish to life in a loving warmth. The pattern is written for a baby blanket size, but is easily adaptable to make larger or smaller.
Materials
- Yarn: 680 grams of Bounty Baby Yarn (Imperial) or Bounty DK Yarn (Metric) in the colours of your choice.
- Needle Size: US 6 (UK 8, Metric 4mm).
- Stitch markers.
- Darning needle for finishing.
Instructions
- Cast on 180 stitches.
- Arrange 90 stitches on each of two needles. Make sure not to twist stitches.
- Place marker and join round.
- Follow the star pattern chart provided under these instructions.
- Continually check the number of stitches on both the needles to ensure they remain equal.
- Continue following the pattern until the blanket measures 30 inches (or desired length).
- Cast off all stitches, cut yarn leaving a long tail and weave in all loose ends.
Remember, the star pattern should always be perfectly centered!
