Knit Sweater Pattern
Overview
Welcome to the knit sweater pattern! This pattern will guide you through the steps to create a cozy and stylish sweater.
Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (approximately 1000 yards)
- Needles: US 8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Instructions
- Back:
- Cast on 100 stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 16 inches (40cm) from the cast on edge.
- Next row (right side): Knit 20, place marker, knit 60, place marker, knit to end.
- Continue working in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 22 inches (55cm) from the cast on edge.
- Front:
- Repeat steps a and b from the back.
- Next row (right side): Knit 20, place marker, knit 20, bind off 20, knit 20, place marker, knit to end.
- Continue working on the remaining 40 stitches for each shoulder until the piece measures the same as the back.
- Sleeves:
- Cast on 50 stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 18 inches (45cm) from the cast on edge.
- Next row (right side): Knit 5, place marker, knit to end.
- Continue working in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 22 inches (55cm) from the cast on edge.
- Collar:
- Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 2 inches (5cm).
- Bind off in pattern.
- Finishing:
- Seam shoulder seams.
- Sew in sleeves.
- Seam side and sleeve seams.
- Weave in all ends.
