Knit Sweater Pattern

Overview

Welcome to the knit sweater pattern! This pattern will guide you through the steps to create a cozy and stylish sweater.

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (approximately 1000 yards)
• Needles: US 8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Back:
1. Cast on 100 stitches.
2. Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 16 inches (40cm) from the cast on edge.
3. Next row (right side): Knit 20, place marker, knit 60, place marker, knit to end.
4. Continue working in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 22 inches (55cm) from the cast on edge.
2. Front:
1. Repeat steps a and b from the back.
2. Next row (right side): Knit 20, place marker, knit 20, bind off 20, knit 20, place marker, knit to end.
3. Continue working on the remaining 40 stitches for each shoulder until the piece measures the same as the back.
3. Sleeves:
1. Cast on 50 stitches.
2. Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 18 inches (45cm) from the cast on edge.
3. Next row (right side): Knit 5, place marker, knit to end.
4. Continue working in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 22 inches (55cm) from the cast on edge.
4. Collar:
1. Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 2 inches (5cm).
2. Bind off in pattern.
5. Finishing:
1. Seam shoulder seams.
2. Sew in sleeves.
3. Seam side and sleeve seams.
4. Weave in all ends.
