Pattern

Step 1: Cast On

Cast on 120 stitches using the long-tail cast-on method.

Step 2: Main Body

Row 1: Knit all stitches.

Row 2: Purl all stitches.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the blanket measures 30 inches (76 cm) from the cast-on edge, ending with a Row 2.

Step 3: Bordered Edge

Switch to the border color yarn.

Row 1 (right side): Knit all stitches.

Row 2 (wrong side): Knit all stitches.

Row 3: *K2, p2; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 4: *P2, k2; repeat from * to end of row.

Repeat Rows 1 to 4 for the bordered edge, until desired width is achieved.

Step 4: Bind Off

Bind off in pattern. Cut yarn and weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.

Step 5: Optional Finishing Touches

If desired, you can block the blanket to give it a more polished look. Soak the blanket in lukewarm water, gently squeeze out the excess water, and lay it flat to dry, shaping it to the desired dimensions.
