This pattern will guide you through creating a cute knitted cactus that requires no watering and will never wilt!
Materials:
Yarn: Medium weight yarn in green, brown, and any other colors you'd like for flowers (Approx. 50g each)
Needles: US 6/UK 8/ 4mm straight knitting needles
Fiberfill stuffing
Tapestry needle
Small terracotta pot (optional)
Instructions:
Cactus Body: Using green yarn, cast on 20 stitches. Knit every row in garter stitch until the piece measures 10 inches.
Shaping: Decrease rows: Row 1: Knit 2 together across the row. Row 2: Knit. Repeat these two rows until 4 stitches remain. Bind off.
Flower (Make 3): Using flower color yarn, cast on 10 stitches. Knit every row in garter stitch for 6 rows. Bind off.
Pot (Optional): Using brown yarn, cast on 6 stitches. Knit every row in garter stitch until the piece measures 2 inches. Bind off.
Assembly: Sew the cast-on edge of the cactus body to the bound-off edge. Stuff lightly with fiberfill. Sew the flowers onto the cactus. Place the cactus in the terracotta pot if desired.
