Body

  1. Using the long-tail cast-on method, cast on 24 stitches.
  2. Row 1-(Knit).
  3. Row 2-(Purl).
  4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until your work measures 3 inches (7.5 cm) from the cast-on edge, ending with a purl row.

Tentacles

  1. Switch to your tentacle color. Using the long-tail cast-on method, cast on 6 stitches.
  2. Row 1-(K1, M1, K1, M1, K1, M1, K1).
  3. Row 2-(Purl).
  4. Row 3-(Knit).
  5. Row 4-(Purl).
  6. Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until your tentacle measures 6 inches (15 cm) from the cast-on edge.
  7. Bind off all stitches.
  8. Repeat steps 1-7 to create 7 tentacles in total.

Assembly

  1. With the tapestry needle, thread the cast-on tail through the stitches of the Body, pull tight to gather the top of the jellyfish.
  2. Stuff the jellyfish body with toy stuffing or yarn scraps.
  3. Thread the tapestry needle with a length of yarn and sew the tentacles to the bottom of the jellyfish body.
  4. Weave in any loose ends.
