Clark Family Clan Knitted Shield Pattern
This pattern is designed for intermediate knitters who are comfortable with colorwork and following detailed instructions.
Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors
- Needles: US 6/ UK 8 / 4mm straight knitting needles
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches/10cm in stockinette stitch
Instructions
- Using the first color, cast on 40 stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch for 10 rows.
- Switch to the second color and work the following colorwork chart:

After completing the chart, continue in stockinette stitch for 10 rows.
Bind off all stitches and weave in ends.
Finishing
Block your knitted piece to ensure the shield lays flat. You can frame the knitted shield for display or sew it onto a fabric backing for a unique wall hanging.
