Knitted Sweater with 3/4 Set-In Sleeves Pattern

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch

Instructions:

  1. Back Panel: Cast on 80 (90, 100, 110) stitches. Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 16 (17, 18, 19) inches from cast-on edge.
  2. Front Panels (Make 2): Cast on 40 (45, 50, 55) stitches. Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 16 (17, 18, 19) inches from cast-on edge.
  3. Joining Front and Back: Place front panels on either side of the back panel, with right sides facing. Seam the shoulders together. Leave gaps for armholes based on your desired size.
  4. Set-In Sleeves: Pick up stitches around the armhole gap and sleeve opening. Work in stockinette stitch for 12 rows, then decrease stitches evenly across the next row. Continue in stockinette stitch until sleeve measures 15 inches from pick-up row. Repeat for second sleeve.
  5. Body: Join front and back at the sides. Work in stockinette stitch until sweater measures desired length, usually 20 (21, 22, 23) inches.
  6. Neckline: Pick up stitches around the neckline and work in rib stitch for 1 inch. Bind off all stitches.
  7. Finishing: Weave in all ends and block the sweater to measurements.
