Materials

Gauge

18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch

Instructions

Back

  1. Using your chosen yarn and the bigger needle size, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130) stitches.
  2. Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 16 (17, 18, 19) inches or desired length.
  3. Next row: Bind off 20 stitches at the center for the neck opening. Continue working each side separately.
  4. Continue working each side separately in stockinette stitch until both sides measure 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5) inches from the cast-on edge.
  5. Bind off all stitches.

Front

Follow the same instructions as for the back until the neck opening.

  1. Next row: Bind off 15 stitches at the center for the neck opening. Continue working each side separately.
  2. Continue working each side separately in stockinette stitch until both sides measure the same as the back piece.
  3. Bind off all stitches.

Sleeves

  1. Using the smaller needle size, cast on 44 (46, 48, 50) stitches.
  2. Work in stockinette stitch, increasing one stitch at each end every 4th row until you have 60 (64, 68, 72) stitches.
  3. Continue in stockinette stitch until the sleeve measures 18 inches or desired length.
  4. Bind off all stitches.
  5. Repeat for the second sleeve.

Finishing

  1. With a tapestry needle, sew the shoulders together using the mattress stitch.
  2. Attach the sleeves to the body using the mattress stitch.
  3. Sew the side seams and sleeve seams using the mattress stitch.
  4. Weave in all loose ends.
