Gauge
10 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
Directions
Back
- Cast on 60 (65, 70) stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 16 (18, 20) inches from the cast-on edge.
- Place stitches on a holder.
Front
- Cast on 60 (65, 70) stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 14 (16, 18) inches from the cast-on edge.
- Shape neckline: on the next row, knit 22 (25, 28) stitches, bind off the center 16 (16, 16) stitches, knit to the end.
- Continue working each side separately. On the next row, decrease 1 stitch at the neckline edge, then decrease 1 stitch every other row 3 times.
