Knitting Chart Hat Pattern

This knitting pattern features a cozy hat with a beautiful cable design. The pattern includes both written instructions and a knitting chart for the cable section.

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK Aran, Metric 10 ply)
• Needles: US 8 (UK 6, Metric 5mm) 16-inch circular needles and set of US 8 double-pointed needles

Gauge

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions

Cast On and Ribbing

1. Using the circular needles, cast on 96 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker for beginning of round.
2. Knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 1.5 inches.

Cable Pattern

Crown Shaping

1. Continue in cable pattern until piece measures 7 inches from cast on edge.
2. Begin crown shaping:

Finishing

1. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the crown.
2. Weave in ends and block the hat to shape.
