Suggested Materials:
Norwegian Sky in Deep Indigo (or any similar light fingering yarn)
20 stitches and 28 rows = 4" in Stockinette stitch
This pattern employs simple knit and purl stitches with a subtle cable-inspired motif. It is worked flat and then seamed to create a seamless, flowing shape.
Cast on 70 stitches using the Long Tail cast-on method.
Row 1 (RS): k1, p1, *k2, p2, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, k2, p1, k1.
Row 2 (WS): p1, k1, *p2, k2, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, p2, k1, p1.
Repeat these two rows until the piece measures approximately 60 inches long or desired length.
For a neat edge, work a 10-stitch garter stitch border along each side at the beginning and end of each row. Once reached the desired length, bind off loosely.
Fold the wrap in half lengthwise and sew the long edges together with mattress stitch to form a seamless loop. Weave in all ends.
Gently block the finished piece to measurements, allowing the fibers to relax and drape beautifully.
Feel free to add tassels or fringes at the edges for extra flair or experiment with different stitch patterns for varied texture.
