Mock Neck Striped Feminine Sweater

Gauge:

20 stitches x 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch using larger needles

Pattern:

  1. Using Color A and larger needles, cast on 100 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker for beginning of round.
  2. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
  3. Switch to smaller needles and begin stockinette stitch, knitting every round, until piece measures 10 inches from cast on edge.
  4. Place markers for raglan shaping: 10 stitches for sleeves, 40 stitches for front, 10 stitches for sleeves, 40 stitches for back.
  5. Raglan Shaping:
    • Decrease Round: *K to 2 stitches before marker, K2tog, K1, slip marker, K1, SSK; repeat from * for all markers.
    • Knit 1 round even.
    • Repeat these 2 rounds until 8 stitches remain between markers.
  6. Continue working body in stockinette stitch until it measures 14 inches from cast on edge.
  7. Switch to Color B and work 4 rows.
  8. Switch back to Color A and work 4 rows.
  9. Repeat these color stripes until body measures 18 inches from cast on edge.
  10. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
  11. Bind off all stitches loosely.
  12. Weave in ends and block the sweater to measurements.
