Monstera Cable Jumper Pattern

This cable jumper pattern is inspired by the beautiful Monstera plant. It features a classic cable design that resembles the leaves of the Monstera plant. This pattern is designed for 2XL adult size.

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight (UK Aran) yarn
• Needles: US size 8 (UK size 6, 5mm) circular needles
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers

Gauge

20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions

Front

Cast on 100 stitches.

Knit in 2x2 ribbing for 2 inches.

Begin the cable pattern:

1. Row 1: *P2, K8, P2* repeat till end
2. Row 2 and all even rows: *K2, P8, K2* repeat till end
3. Row 3: *P2, slip 4 stitches to cable needle and hold it in back, K4, K4 from cable needle, P2* repeat till end
4. Row 5: *P2, K8, P2* repeat till end
5. Row 7: *P2, K4, slip 4 stitches to cable needle and hold it in front, K4, K4 from cable needle, P2* repeat till end
6. Repeat rows 2 through 7 until the work measures 18 inches from the cast on edge.

Work in stockinette stitch until the work measures 21 inches from the cast on edge.

Back

Follow the same instructions as for the front until the work measures 21 inches from the cast on edge.

Finishing

Join the front and back at the shoulders using the three-needle bind off method.

Sew up the sides of the jumper using the mattress stitch.

Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle.

Block the jumper to the measurements provided.
