Mosaic Crochet Scarf Pattern

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (about 200-250g) in two contrasting colors
  [Imperial: Worsted weight yarn (about 7-9 ounces) in two contrasting colors]
• Crochet Hook: Size H (5mm)
  [UK Old: Size 6, Metric: 5mm]
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• dc: double crochet
• 4-st L: 4-stitch long stitch (see pattern instructions)

Pattern

Note: This pattern is worked in rows.

Color A: Choose your first contrasting color

Color B: Choose your second contrasting color

Row 1: With Color A, chain 201

Row 2: Work 1 sc in second ch from hook, work 1 sc in each ch to end, turn (200 sc)

Row 3: With Color B, ch 1, work 1 sc in each st across, turn (200 sc)

Continue row 3 for the desired length of your scarf, alternating colors every row. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for weaving in later.

To create the mosaic pattern:

• 4-st L:
  Skip the first 3 stitches, yo, insert hook from front to back through the next stitch, yo, pull through a loop, yo, insert hook from back to front in the last skipped stitch, yo, pull through a loop, yo, pull through all 5 loops on the hook. Stitch completed.

Mosaic Pattern:

Row 1: With Color A, ch 1, work 1 dc in each st across, turn (200 dc)

Row 2: With Color A, ch 1, *1 dc in next st, 4-st L in next 4 sts; repeat from * to last 5 sts, 1 dc in each of last 5 sts, turn (200 sts)

Row 3: With Color B, ch 1, work 1 dc in each st across, turn (200 dc)

Row 4: With Color B, ch 1, *4-st L in next 4 sts, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * to last 5 sts, 4-st L in next 4 sts, 1 dc in each of last 5 sts, turn (200 sts)

Repeat Rows 1-4 until your scarf reaches the desired length.

Finishing

Weave in all loose ends using a tapestry needle.
