Newborn Long Sleeve Onesie/Romper

This cozy and adorable onesie/romper is perfect for keeping your little one snug and warm. It features long sleeves and legs for extra coverage.

Materials:

Yarn: 100g of DK weight yarn (US: Light Worsted / UK: Double Knit) in any color of your choice
Needles: US 6 (4mm) straight needles and a set of double-pointed needles
Other: Stitch markers, yarn needle, buttons

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Newborn (0-3 months)

Back Panel:
- Cast on 50 stitches using straight needles
- Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 8 inches
- Shape armholes: Bind off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows
- Continue in stockinette stitch until armhole measures 5 inches
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 12 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows
- Remaining 10 stitches form the back neck
Front Panel: Work the same as back panel until armholes measure 4.5 inches
Legs:
- Pick up and knit 30 stitches along the leg opening
- Work in stockinette stitch for 6 inches
- Decrease: K2tog, knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog
- Repeat the decrease row every 6th row until 20 stitches remain
- Work 1 inch in ribbing
- Bind off all stitches
Sleeves:
- Pick up and knit 30 stitches around the armhole
- Work in stockinette stitch for 4 inches
- Decrease: K2tog, knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog
- Repeat the decrease row every 4th row until 20 stitches remain
- Work 1 inch in ribbing
- Bind off all stitches
Finishing: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up and knit stitches around the neck and knit 1 inch in ribbing. Sew side and leg seams. Sew buttons on one shoulder for closure.
