Norwegian Wool Sweater Pattern

Create a classic Norwegian wool sweater for men featuring green, white, and black colorwork.

Materials:

• Yarn: Worsted weight wool yarn in green, white, and black
  US Needle Size: 8 / UK Old Needle Size: 6 / Metric Needle Size: 5 mm
• Circular knitting needles
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch markers

Gauge:

20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Pattern:

1. Using the white yarn, cast on 100 stitches.
2. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Place a marker at the beginning of the round.
3. Work in rib stitch (k1, p1) for 2 inches.
4. Switch to green yarn and knit 2 rounds.
5. Begin colorwork pattern:
   • Rounds 1-4: Knit in green.
   • Rounds 5-8: Knit in white, working a simple geometric pattern.
   • Rounds 9-12: Knit in black.
   • Repeat these 12 rounds until the body measures desired length.
6. Shape the yoke:

7. Bind off stitches.
8. Work the sleeves:
   • Pick up stitches around armhole edge in green yarn.
