Materials

Instructions

  1. Using your G-6/8/4mm crochet hook and your chosen baby yarn, start with a chain of 142 sts.
  2. In the second chain from the hook, start your repeat pattern: single crochet (sc), half-double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc). *Skip next two chains, in the next chain, perform: sc, hdc, dc. Repeat from * to the end of row before ending with one hdc in the last chain.
  3. Turn work and chain 1. Repeat the pattern of step 2 in-between the stitches (the ‘valley’ between the stitches) of the previous row rather than the chains.
  4. Repeat step 3 until you have reached your desired length or until you have nearly used up your yarn, leaving enough to bind off and weave in ends.
  5. Use your size 6/8/4mm knitting needles and remaining yarn to create a ribbed border. Pick up stitches along the edge of the crochet blanket and knit in a K2, P2 ribbing pattern until the border is your desired width.
  6. Bind off. Use darning needle and remaining yarn to weave in any ends.
