- dc = double crochet
- inc = increase (2 sc in same st)
- dec = invisible decrease (sc2tog)

- *...* = repeat instructions between asterisks
Notes
- Work in continuous rounds unless instructed otherwise. Place a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round.
- Use tighter tension for amigurumi to avoid stuffing showing through.
- Embroider facial details before final stuffing where easier to access.
Head
Make with skin tone.
- R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- R2: inc around (12)
- R3: *sc, inc* around (18)
- R4: *2 sc, inc* around (24)
- R5: *3 sc, inc* around (30)
- R6: *4 sc, inc* around (36)
- R7–R12: sc around (36) — 6 rounds for head height
- R13: *4 sc, dec* around (30)
- R14: *3 sc, dec* around (24)
- Insert safety eyes between R9 and R10 about 7–8 sts apart; embroider eyelids/eyebrows later if desired.
- R15: *2 sc, dec* around (18)
- R16: *sc, dec* around (12)
- Start stuffing firmly.
- R17: dec around (6). Fasten off and close. Leave tail for sewing.
Chin / Jowl Detail
Peter has a prominent double-chin/jowl and pronounced cheek area. Make a small separate chin piece and sew under head for that look.
- Make with skin tone.
- R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- R2: inc around (12)
- R3: *sc, inc* around (18)
- R4: sc around (18). Flatten slightly and sew to lower front of head centered under mouth area. Stuff lightly to keep shape.
Body / Torso
Start with white for shirt top, change to green for pants at color change round.
- With white:
- R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- R2: inc around (12)
- R3: *sc, inc* around (18)
- R4: *2 sc, inc* around (24)
- R5: *3 sc, inc* around (30)
- R6: *4 sc, inc* around (36)
- R7–R11: sc around (36) — continue white until shirt length approx same diameter as head connection point
- Change to skin tone for neck or leave white and add neck later. Optional: create small neck tube of skin tone 6 sc in continuous rounds for 3–4 rounds, then sew between head and torso.
- At R12: change to green for pants. Continue:
- R12–R20: sc around (36) — adjust length for body height, taper slightly at waist if desired with a round of *4 sc, dec* to reduce 36 to 30 before continuing pants.
- Stuff body firmly before closing top where head will be joined and before closing bottom for legs insertion.
- Leave top opening to sew head on, and leave lower opening for legs assembly.
Legs (make 2)
Crochet each leg in green for pants with black shoe at end.
- With green:
- R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- R2: inc around (12)
- R3–R10: sc around (12) — length of leg/pant
- Change to black for shoe:
- R11: *sc, inc* around to shape toe if desired or continue 12 sc to form ankle
- R12–R14: sc around (12) — shape shoe by flattening and adding inner sole embroidery or leaving round
- Stuff lightly and sew legs to bottom of body about 2–3 stitches apart. Alternatively make legs flat and attach for seated look.
Arms (make 2)
Skin tone for hands, optional pipe cleaner inside for posability.
- With skin tone:
- R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- R2: inc around (12)
- R3–R16: sc around (12) — length of arm
- Switch to shirt white about 3–4 rounds from the shoulder to create cuff if desired.
- Stuff lightly and sew to sides of body at seam line. For wider shoulders attach with a few extra stitches and shape with a round of decreases if needed.
Hands / Fingers
Peter normally has mitten-like hands. Optionally create thumb bump by making a small 4–6 st nub and sewing onto side of hand.
Hair
Short brown hair patch at back and top. Use brown yarn and embroider or single crochet a small oval patch.
- With brown:
- Ch 6, join to make small ring, or 6 sc in magic ring.
- R1: 6 sc
- R2: *sc, inc* around to 9 or 12 sts to form small flat oval.
- Sew to top-back of head. For forehead hairline, use long loop stitch or surface slip stitch to create the signature simple hairline.
Mouth and Eyebrows
Embroider mouth and eyebrows with black or dark brown yarn. For Peter's mouth shape, embroider a large U shape centered on head front under eyes. Add a small embroidered line under mouth for chin crease if desired.
Collar and Shirt Trim
Using white for shirt and a row of gray or navy for collar trim: with white sc around top of torso to create shirt edge. Add one round of slip stitch in contrast color to simulate collar seam.
Assembly
- Sew neck tube to torso if made, then sew head to neck securely with invisible mattress or whip stitch. Be sure seam is neat as Peter's collar sits at the junction.
- Sew chin piece centered beneath mouth and stuff lightly so it protrudes slightly.
- Position and sew arms to sides of torso. Use extra thread to secure through body for stability.
- Sew legs into lower opening and reinforce with several passes of yarn through body bottom to secure.
- Sew hair patch and embroider facial features. Add small embroidered eyebrows above eyes.
Finishing
- Trim any stray yarn ends and weave them in securely.
- Use yarn or embroidery to outline Peter's glasses bridge if you want the framed look.
- Use a tiny bit of blush or fabric-safe paint to add subtle cheek color if desired.
Variations and Tips
- For a more cartoon-accurate look, exaggerate the chin/jowl and belly area with extra stuffing and shaping.
- Use 8 mm safety eyes for a more playful look or embroider eyes for a 'cartoon' simplified face.
- To make multiple characters from Family Guy, swap colors and small details.
Care
Surface wash with mild soap and cold water. Air dry. Remove safety eyes before washing if machine washing is attempted (not recommended).
