Pigeon-inspired Knitted Cowl

This pattern is for a cozy, dk-weight knitted cowl inspired by the beautiful colors and textures found in pigeons. It features a simple stitch pattern that mimics the soft feathers of pigeons and will keep you warm and stylish during the colder months.

Materials:

Gauge:

22 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions:

Cast on:

  1. Using the long-tail cast-on method, cast on 120 stitches.
  2. Place a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round.

Round 1:

Knit all stitches.

Round 2:

Purl all stitches.

Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 until the cowl measures approximately 8 inches from the cast-on edge, or your desired length.

Bind off:

Bind off all stitches in pattern (knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches).

Finishing:

  1. Weave in any remaining ends.
  2. Block the cowl to even out the stitches and enhance drape, if desired.
  3. Wear and enjoy your pigeon-inspired knitted cowl!
