Pigeon Themed Cowl

Create a cozy pigeon themed cowl with this knitting and crochet pattern. Perfect for bird lovers!

Materials

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in the following colors: gray for the main body, white and black for the pigeon details.

Knitting Needles: US size 8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Crochet Hook: US size H-8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Instructions

Using knitting needles:

1. Cast on 100 stitches using gray yarn.
2. Work in stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) for 8 inches.
3. Switch to white yarn and knit 2 rows.
4. Using black yarn, knit rows 3-6 in stockinette stitch.
5. Switch back to white yarn and knit 2 rows.
6. Continue working in stockinette stitch with gray yarn until cowl measures 18 inches from cast on edge.
7. Bind off all stitches.

Using crochet hook:

1. Attach gray yarn to one end of the cowl.
2. Work single crochet stitches evenly around the entire edge of the cowl.
3. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.
4. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Finishing

Block the cowl to shape, if desired. Weave in any remaining ends.
