Materials Needed:

Gauge:

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Size:

One size fits most adult hands

Instructions:

Note: Work both arm warmers the same way.

Ribbing:

  1. Cast on 36 stitches.
  2. Row 1: *K2, p2* to the end of the row, ending with k2.
  3. Repeat Row 1 until the ribbing measures approximately 2 inches from the cast on edge.

Main Body:

Switch to stockinette stitch.

  1. Row 1: Knit all stitches.
  2. Row 2: Purl all stitches.
  3. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the arm warmer measures approximately 8 inches from the cast on edge, or desired length.

Thumb Hole:

  1. Next row (Right Side): K2, pm, k5, pm, knit to the end of the row.
  2. Next row (Wrong Side): Purl all stitches.
  3. Repeat the last 2 rows for 1 inch.

Decrease for Thumb:

Continue in stockinette stitch.

  1. Row 1: Knit to 2 stitches before the marker, k2tog, sm, k5, sm, ssk, knit to the end of the row.
  2. Row 2: Purl all stitches.
  3. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until 16 stitches remain.

Ribbing:

  1. Switch to ribbing.
  2. Repeat Ribbing section (Row 1) for approximately 1 inch.
  3. Bind off all stitches in ribbing pattern.

Finishing:

Weave in any loose ends using a tapestry needle. Block the arm warmers if desired.
