Pigeon Themed Knitted Arm Warmers Pattern

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (4 ply). Approximately 100-150 yards (91-137 meters).
• Knitting Needles: Size US 8 (5mm) straight needles.
• Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5mm) for optional finishing details.
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

Gauge

20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch.

Size

One size fits most adult hands (approximately 7-8 inches / 18-20 cm in circumference).

Abbreviations

• K: Knit
• P: Purl
• St(s): Stitch(es)
• PM: Place marker
• SM: Slip marker
• K2tog: Knit two stitches together
• P2tog: Purl two stitches together
• M1R: Make one right - Lift the bar between stitches from back to front and knit into the front loop
• M1L: Make one left - Lift the bar between stitches from front to back and knit into the back loop

Instructions

Ribbing

1. Cast on 30 stitches.
2. Row 1: *K2, P2* repeat to the end of the row.
3. Repeat Row 1 for a total of 6 rows.

Main Body

1. Switch to stockinette stitch (knit every row) and begin working in the round.
2. Purl one row for a fold line.
3. Knit in stockinette stitch for approximately 6 inches (15 cm) or until desired length.
4. Purl one row for a fold line.
5. Switch back to ribbing.
6. Row 1: *K2, P2* repeat to the end of the row.
7. Repeat Row 1 for a total of 6 rows.

Thumb Hole

1. Place markers at the 8th and 23rd stitches.
2. Continue in ribbing pattern until the end of the row.
3. Next row: *K2, P2* until marker, remove marker, K2, P2.
4. Continue in ribbing pattern for the remaining stitches.

Finishing

1. Bind off in ribbing pattern.
2. Weave in all loose ends.
3. Optional: To add beak, sew a small triangle of yellow felt or embroidery thread to the top of the warmer.
4. Optional: To add eyes, use black buttons or embroider them onto the warmer.
