Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (4 ply). Approximately 100-150 yards (91-137 meters).

Gauge
20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch.

Abbreviations
- K: Knit
- P: Purl

- PM: Place marker
- SM: Slip marker
- K2tog: Knit two stitches together
- P2tog: Purl two stitches together

Instructions
Ribbing
- Cast on 30 stitches.
- Row 1: *K2, P2* repeat to the end of the row.
- Repeat Row 1 for a total of 6 rows.
Main Body
- Switch to stockinette stitch (knit every row) and begin working in the round.
- Purl one row for a fold line.
- Knit in stockinette stitch for approximately 6 inches (15 cm) or until desired length.
- Purl one row for a fold line.
- Switch back to ribbing.
- Row 1: *K2, P2* repeat to the end of the row.
- Repeat Row 1 for a total of 6 rows.
Thumb Hole
- Place markers at the 8th and 23rd stitches.
- Continue in ribbing pattern until the end of the row.
- Next row: *K2, P2* until marker, remove marker, K2, P2.
- Continue in ribbing pattern for the remaining stitches.
Finishing
- Bind off in ribbing pattern.
- Weave in all loose ends.
- Optional: To add beak, sew a small triangle of yellow felt or embroidery thread to the top of the warmer.
- Optional: To add eyes, use black buttons or embroider them onto the warmer.
