Pigeon Themed Knitted Cowl

Gauge
16 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch using US 9 (5.5mm) needles.
Size
One size fits most adults. Finished cowl measures approximately 24 inches (61cm) circumference and 8 inches (20cm) height.

Instructions
Cowl Body
- Using US 7 (4.5mm) needles and MC, cast on 120 stitches.
- Work in 1x1 ribbing (K1, P1) for 1.5 inches (4cm).
- Switch to US 9 (5.5mm) needles.
- Begin stranded colorwork in the following pattern:
Round 1: *K2 MC, K2 CC1; repeat from * to end of round.
Round 2: *K2 CC1, K2 MC; repeat from * to end of round.
- Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 for a total of 3 inches (7.5cm).
- Continue knitting in MC only for the next 3 inches (7.5cm).
- Switch to CC1 and knit in stockinette stitch for 2 inches (5cm).
- Switch back to MC, and knit in stockinette stitch for 1 inch (2.5cm).
Edging
Switch to US 7 (4.5mm) needles.
- Work in 1x1 ribbing (K1, P1) for 1.5 inches (4cm).
- Bind off in ribbing pattern.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle. Block the cowl if desired.
