Front

  1. With the MC and US 6 straight needles, cast on 90 (100, 110, 120) stitches.
  2. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 inch.
  3. Switch to US 8 straight needles and begin stockinette stitch.
  4. Keeping 10 (12, 14, 16) stitches at each edge in seed stitch, work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 10 (10.5, 11, 11.5) inches from the cast on edge.

Back

  1. Repeat steps 1-4 of the Front.

Sleeves

  1. With the MC and US 6 double-pointed needles, cast on 44 (48, 52, 56) stitches.
  2. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 inch.
  3. Switch to US 8 double-pointed needles and begin stockinette stitch.
  4. Increase 1 stitch on each side every 4th round, 5 times. (54, 58, 62, 66 stitches)
  5. Work even in stockinette stitch until the sleeve measures 16 (16.5, 17, 17.5) inches from the cast on edge.
  6. Transfer the stitches onto waste yarn.
  7. Work the second sleeve in the same manner.

Neckband

  1. Pick up stitches along the neckline with the CC and US 6 straight needles.
  2. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 inch.
  3. Bind off in pattern.

Assembly

  1. With the right sides facing, sew the shoulder seams using the mattress stitch or preferred seaming method.
  2. With the right sides facing, sew the sleeve seams using the mattress stitch or preferred seaming method.
  3. Set in the sleeves, aligning the underarm seams with the side seams, and sew in place.
  4. Weave in all loose ends and block the sweater to the desired measurements.
