Crochet:

  1. Row 1: Chain 45 stitches.

  3. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 5 inches from the foundation chain.

Section 2:

Switch to CC1.

Knitting:

  1. Row 1: Knit all stitches.
  2. Row 2: Purl all stitches.
  3. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 8 inches from the beginning.

Crochet:

  1. Row 1: Chain 45 stitches.
  2. Row 2: Single crochet in each stitch across.
  3. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 8 inches from the foundation chain.

Repeat Section 2 with each contrast color (CC2, CC3, CC4, CC5), working for 8 inches with each color.

Section 3:

Switch to MC.

Knitting:
