Ribbed Knit Beanie Pattern

Gauge:
18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in rib stitch pattern
Instructions:
- Using the circular needles, cast on 88 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker at beginning of round.
- Round 1: *K2, P2, repeat from * to end of round.
- Repeat Round 1 until hat measures 8 inches from cast-on edge.

- Round 1: *K2, P2tog, repeat from * to end of round (66 stitches).
- Round 2: *K2, P1, repeat from * to end of round.
- Round 3: *K2tog, P1, repeat from * to end of round (44 stitches).

- Round 5: *K2tog, repeat from * to end of round (22 stitches).
- Round 6: *K2tog, repeat from * to end of round (11 stitches).
- Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top of the hat.
- Weave in ends and block the hat to shape.
