Ribbed Winter Beanie

Materials:

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK Aran, Metric 10 ply, Imperial 4)
• Needles: US 8 (UK 6, Metric 5mm) circular needles or double-pointed needles
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

20 stitches x 26 rows = 4 inches in rib stitch

Pattern:

1. Cast on 88 stitches using the long-tail cast-on method.
2. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.
3. Round 1: *K2, P2; repeat from * to end of round.
4. Repeat Round 1 until the piece measures 8 inches from the cast-on edge.
5. Crown decreases:Round 1: *K2, P2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
6. Round 2: *K2, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
7. Round 3: *K2tog, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
