Round Yoke Sweater with Colour Work
Stay warm and stylish with this beautiful round yoke sweater featuring a striking colorwork design!
Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors
- Main Color (MC): 400g (600yds/550m)
- Contrast Color 1 (CC1): 100g (150yds/140m)
- Contrast Color 2 (CC2): 100g (150yds/140m) - Needles: US 8 (5mm) and US 6 (4mm) circular needles, 16" and 32" (40cm and 80cm) in length
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
Gauge:
20 stitches x 24 rows = 4" (10cm) in stockinette stitch on larger needles
Size:
Finished bust circumference: 36 (40, 44, 48)" / 91 (102, 112, 122) cm
Pattern:
- Using smaller needles and MC, cast on 120 (130, 140, 150) stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist, and place marker for beginning of round.
- Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 inch.
- Switch to larger needles and begin colorwork pattern:
- Round 1: Knit with CC1
- Round 2: Knit with CC2
- Repeat Rounds 1-2 for colorwork pattern. - Continue in colorwork pattern until piece measures 12 (13, 14, 15) inches from cast on edge.
- Shape yoke:
- Continuing with MC, knit to 6 (7, 8, 9) stitches before marker, k2tog, k1, slip marker, k1, ssk. Repeat around. - Repeat the decrease round every 3rd round 5 more times (36 total stitches decreased).
- Continue knitting in MC until yoke measures 6.5 (7, 7.5, 8) inches from start of yoke shaping.
- Bind off all stitches loosely.
Finish off ends and block sweater to measurements.
