Turtleneck Raglan Cable Knit Sweater

Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK Aran), approximately 1000 yards (900 meters)

Gauge:
20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch on larger needles

Pattern:
- Using the smaller circular needles, cast on 120 (132, 144, 156) sts. Join in the round, being careful not to twist.
- Work in twisted rib (k1 through back loop, p1) for 1 inch.
- Switch to larger circular needles and begin stockinette stitch, increasing 8 sts evenly across the round.
- Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 14 (15, 16, 17) inches from cast-on edge.
- Begin raglan shaping: Work 1 round, increasing 1 st before and after each marker.
- Continue raglan shaping every other round until there are 24 (26, 28, 30) raglan increases on each side.
- At the same time, when piece measures 4 inches from underarm, place 18 (20, 22, 24) sts for each sleeve on holder.
- Work across front and back sts in cable pattern as follows:
- Next round: *P2, work cable twist over next 12 sts, p2; repeat from * to end of round.
- Continue in cable pattern until piece measures desired length.
- Work twisted rib for 1 inch and bind off loosely.
- With circular needles, pick up held sleeve sts and work in stockinette stitch for 12 (13, 14, 15) inches, then work twisted rib for 1 inch.
- Bind off loosely and repeat for second sleeve.
- Weave in ends and block sweater to finished measurements.
