Two-Color Sweater Vest Pattern
This pattern is for a cozy and stylish two-colored sweater vest with two blocks of each color on the front and back. Perfect for layering over long-sleeve shirts for a classic look.
Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors
Color A (Main Color): 400g (approx. 800 yards)
Color B (Contrast Color): 300g (approx. 600 yards) - Needles: US 7/UK 7/4.5mm and US 8/UK 6/5.0mm straight or circular needles

Gauge:
19 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches/10cm in stockinette stitch using US 7/UK 7/4.5mm needles
Size:
This pattern is written for sizes S (M, L, XL, XXL). Refer to the sizing chart for measurements.
Pattern:
- Using Color A and US 7/UK 7/4.5mm needles, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130, 140) stitches.
- Work in 1x1 ribbing (K1, P1) for 2 inches.
- Switch to US 8/UK 6/5.0mm needles and knit in Stockinette stitch for 10 (11, 12, 13, 14) inches, maintaining 2 blocks of Color A and Color B on the front and back.
- Shape armholes: Bind off 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Decrease 1 stitch at each end of the next 2 rows.
- Continue knitting in stockinette stitch until armholes measure 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5, 10) inches.
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows.
- Bind off remaining stitches.
- Repeat steps 3-7 for the back panel.
- Join front and back panels at the shoulders using mattress stitch.
- Using US 7/UK 7/4.5mm needles and Color A, pick up stitches along the armholes and neckline. Work in 1x1 ribbing for 1 inch. Bind off in pattern.
- Weave in all ends and block your finished vest to shape.
