Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight (UK: Aran, Metric: 10 ply)
- Needles: US size 8 (UK: size 6, Metric: 5mm) circular needles, 16" in length
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

This pattern is written in one size, to fit most adults. Finished bust: 38 inches
Abbreviations
- K: Knit
- P: Purl
- CO: Cast On
- BO: Bind Off
Instructions
Back
- CO 92 stitches.
- Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to stockinette stitch and continue until the piece measures 14 inches from the CO edge.
Front
- CO 46 stitches.
- Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to stockinette stitch and continue until the piece measures 9 inches from the CO edge.
Neck Shaping
Continue working on the front piece only.
- Next row (RS): K15, join a new ball of yarn, BO 16 stitches, K15.
- Work each side separately.
- Continue in stockinette stitch until each side measures 10 inches from the CO edge.
Shoulder Shaping
Continue working on each side separately.
- First row (RS): BO 5 stitches, knit to end.
- Second row (WS): Purl.
- Repeat these 2 rows 2 more times.
- BO all stitches.
Finishing
- With the wrong sides facing each other, sew the shoulder seams together using the mattress stitch.
- With circular needles, pick up 60 stitches along the armhole edges.
- Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1 inch.
- BO all stitches in ribbing pattern.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for the other armhole.
- Weave in all loose ends and block your finished vest.
