# Classic Teddy Bear Amigurumi

**Finished Size**: Approximately 14-15 inches tall

## MATERIALS

**Yarn**: Worsted weight (4) yarn in your choice of color
- Main Color (MC): Approximately 400-450 yards
- Small amount of contrasting color for muzzle (optional - can use MC)
- Suggested colors: Brown, tan, cream, gray, or any color you prefer

**Hook**: US G-6 (4.0mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

**Other Supplies**:
- 12mm safety eyes (2)
- Polyester fiberfill stuffing
- Yarn needle for sewing
- Stitch marker
- Embroidery thread or yarn in black/brown for nose and mouth
- Pins for assembly

## GAUGE

16 sts × 18 rounds = 4" in single crochet (worked tightly in continuous rounds)

**Gauge is important** for this pattern to achieve the correct size and fabric density to hold stuffing.

## PATTERN NOTES

1. **Work in continuous spiral rounds** unless otherwise instructed. Do not join rounds or turn. Use a stitch marker to track the beginning of each round.

2. **Invisible decrease technique**: This creates a neater decrease. Insert hook through front loop only of next 2 stitches, yarn over and pull through both loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all loops.

3. **Magic ring**: An adjustable ring to start. If unfamiliar, you can ch 2 and work Round 1 stitches into the 2nd ch from hook, then pull the tail tight.

4. **Stuffing**: Stuff pieces firmly as you work, especially before decreasing. The body and head should be very firm; limbs can be slightly softer for posability.

5. **Safety eyes**: Insert between rounds 16-17 of head, approximately 8 stitches apart, before closing the head.

6. **Stitch count verification**: Count your stitches at the end of each round to ensure accuracy.
