# DAISY BLOOM PULLOVER (Beginner Friendly)

## PATTERN NOTES & SPECIFICATIONS

**Description:**
A classic drop-shoulder pullover worked flat in pieces (Back, Front, and Sleeves) and seamed. The body features a relaxed fit with a cheerful intarsia daisy motif centred on the front.

**Sizes (To fit Bust/Chest):**
*   **Small:** 81-86 cm (32-34")
*   **Medium:** 91-97 cm (36-38")
*   **Large:** 102-107 cm (40-42")
*   **XL:** 112-117 cm (44-46")
*   **2XL:** 122-127 cm (48-50")

**Finished Garment Measurements (Chest Circumference):**
*   **Small:** 97 cm (38")
*   **Medium:** 106 cm (42")
*   **Large:** 116 cm (46")
*   **XL:** 128 cm (50.5")
*   **2XL:** 138 cm (54")
*   *Designed with approx. 10-15 cm positive ease for a comfortable fit.*

**Yarn Requirements (Worsted / Aran Weight):**
*   **Main Colour (MC - e.g., Sage Green):** 900 (1000, 1150, 1300, 1450) metres.
*   **Contrast Colour 1 (CC1 - White for petals):** 50 metres (all sizes).
*   **Contrast Colour 2 (CC2 - Yellow for centre):** 20 metres (all sizes).

**Hooks & Notions:**
*   5.00mm (UK 6 / US H-8) crochet hook for ribbing.
*   5.50mm (UK 5 / US I-9) crochet hook for main body (or size needed to obtain tension).
*   Tapestry needle.
*   Stitch markers.
*   Bobbins for colourwork (optional but recommended).

**Tension (Gauge):**
**CRITICAL:** 13 stitches and 8 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in Treble Crochet (tr) using larger hook.
*If you have more stitches per 10cm, try a larger hook. If you have fewer stitches, try a smaller hook.*

**Abbreviations (UK Terminology):**
*   **ch:** chain
*   **dc:** double crochet (US single crochet)

## CHARTS

**Chart Notes:**
*   Read **Odd Rows (RS)** from Right to Left.
*   Read **Even Rows (WS)** from Left to Right.
*   **Intarsia Method:** Do not carry the main colour yarn across the back of the flower. Use a separate ball of MC for the left side and right side of the sweater. When changing colour, work the last yarn over of the previous stitch with the *new* colour to create a seamless join.
*   Each square represents 1 treble crochet (tr).

## INSTRUCTIONS

### 1. BACK PANEL
**Ribbing:**
Using **5.00mm** hook and MC.
Ch 10 (approx 6 cm height).
**Row 1:** dc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [9 sts]
**Row 2:** ch 1 (does not count as st), dc in BLO of each st across, turn. [9 sts]
Repeat Row 2 until ribbing measures approx: 48 (53, 58, 64, 69) cm unstretched.
*Rotate work to crochet into the long edge of the ribbing.*

**Body Setup:**
Change to **5.50mm** hook.
**Foundation Row (RS):** Work 63 (69, 75, 83, 89) dc evenly across the long edge of the ribbing. Turn.
*[Math Check: S: 63 sts / 1.3 gauge = 48.4 cm width. Matches size spec.]*

**Main Body:**
**Row 1 (WS):** ch 2 (counts as first tr throughout), tr in each st to end. Turn. [63 (69, 75, 83, 89) sts]
**Row 2 (RS):** ch 2, tr in each st to end. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 38 (38, 40, 40, 42) cm from bottom edge.
*Place a marker at each end of the last row to indicate the start of the armhole (Drop shoulder construction).*

**Upper Back:**
Continue in tr pattern (straight, no decreasing) until piece measures 60 (62, 64, 66, 68) cm total length from bottom edge.

**Shoulder Shaping (Slope):**
**Next Row:** Slip stitch in first 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) sts, ch 2, tr to last 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) sts, leave remaining sts unworked. Turn.
**Next Row:** Slip stitch in first 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) sts, ch 2, tr to last 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) sts, leave remaining sts unworked. Fasten off.

### 2. FRONT PANEL
Work exactly as Back Panel until piece measures approx 20 (22, 24, 26, 28) cm from bottom edge, ending on a WS row.

**Begin Chart A (Daisy Motif):**
The chart is 19 sts wide. You must centre it.
**Calculation for placement:**
*   S: (63 - 19) / 2 = 22 sts MC, 19 sts Chart, 22 sts MC.
*   M: (69 - 19) / 2 = 25 sts MC, 19 sts Chart, 25 sts MC.
*   L: (75 - 19) / 2 = 28 sts MC, 19 sts Chart, 28 sts MC.
*   XL: (83 - 19) / 2 = 32 sts MC, 19 sts Chart, 32 sts MC.
*   2XL: (89 - 19) / 2 = 35 sts MC, 19 sts Chart, 35 sts MC.

**Row 1 of Chart (RS):** With MC, tr 22 (25, 28, 32, 35), join Chart colours and work Row 1 of Chart (19 sts), with separate ball of MC tr remaining 22 (25, 28, 32, 35) sts. Turn.
**Rows 2-15 of Chart:** Continue following chart logic, keeping background in MC.
**After Chart:** Cut CC1 and CC2. Continue in MC only.

Work until Front measures 52 (54, 56, 58, 60) cm total length (approx 8 cm less than total length), ending with a WS row.

**Neck Shaping (Left Side):**
**Row 1 (RS):** Work 24 (27, 29, 33, 36) tr. Turn. Leave remaining sts unworked for now.
**Row 2 (WS):** tr2tog, work in tr to end. [23 (26, 28, 32, 35) sts]
**Row 3:** Work in tr to last 2 sts, tr2tog. [22 (25, 27, 31, 34) sts]
**Row 4:** tr2tog, work in tr to end. [21 (24, 26, 30, 33) sts]
Continue straight until Front matches Back length to shoulder shaping.
**Shoulder:** Apply same step-down slip stitch shaping as Back shoulder. Fasten off.

**Neck Shaping (Right Side):**
Return to remaining stitches on RS. Skip centre 15 (15, 17, 17, 17) sts for neck opening. Join yarn to next st.
**Row 1 (RS):** Work tr to end. [24 (27, 29, 33, 36) sts]
**Row 2 (WS):** Work in tr to last 2 sts, tr2tog.
**Row 3:** tr2tog, work in tr to end.
**Row 4:** Work in tr to last 2 sts, tr2tog. [21 (24, 26, 30, 33) sts]
Continue straight until Front matches Back length.
**Shoulder:** Apply same step-down slip stitch shaping as Back shoulder. Fasten off.

### 3. SLEEVES (Make 2)
**Ribbing:**
Using **5.00mm** hook and MC.
Ch 10. Work ribbing as for Back for 20 (21, 22, 23, 24) cm length.

**Setup:**
Change to **5.50mm** hook.
**Foundation Row (RS):** Work 35 (37, 39, 41, 43) dc evenly across edge. Turn.

**Main Sleeve (Increases):**
**Row 1:** ch 2, tr in each st to end.
**Row 2 (Inc Row):** ch 2, 2 tr in first st, tr to last st, 2 tr in last st. [Increase of 2 sts].
**Next 3 rows:** Work straight in tr.
Repeat these 4 rows (1 inc row, 3 straight rows) until you have 55 (59, 63, 67, 71) sts.
*[Math Check Size S: Start 35. Target 55. Need 20 sts inc (10 inc rows). 10 * 4 rows = 40 rows. 40 rows / 0.8 rows/cm = 50cm length. Fits standard arm length.]*

Continue straight until sleeve measures 46 (47, 48, 49, 50) cm or desired length. Fasten off.

### 4. FINISHING
1.  **Blocking:** Wet block the pieces, paying special attention to the daisy motif to smooth out the colour joins. Pin to measurements and let dry.
2.  **Seaming:**
    *   Join shoulder seams using a whip stitch or slip stitch seam (WS).
    *   Lay the body flat. Match the centre of the sleeve top to the shoulder seam. Pin sleeve in place between the armhole markers. Seam sleeve to body.
    *   Fold sweater and seam side seams and sleeve underarms in one continuous pass.
3.  **Neckband:**
    *   Using **5.00mm** hook and MC, join yarn at shoulder seam.
    *   Work 1 round of dc evenly around the neck opening. Ensure you work an even number of stitches. (Approx 70-80 sts).
    *   **Rounds 2-4:** dc in each st around.
    *   Fasten off and weave in ends.
